Meet Our Team

Pat Kirkland of Kirkland and Associates architects, Jim Bankes of Jim Bankes, Inc. and Shane Meder of Blacksheep Interiors have worked together for the past five years designing magnificent works of art our clients are proud to call home.

Jim has found in his years of building luxury custom homes that it is extremely important to assemble a team comprised of an Architect, Interior Designer and a Builder. This team is extremely important to the successful completion of all phases of your home building project. It starts with designing your home, from the beginning, so it will fit your construction budget and ends with you moving into a home that addresses your family’s needs and dreams. Your home building experience will go much more smoothly if the Architect, Interior Designer and Builder are in place prior to starting the project. This translates into less time to complete the design phase and construction phase of the project, fewer changes and ultimately less money to construct your home.

Also, during the design phase of your home, you and the Architect establish the exterior style of the home and create a floor plan that works for your family's life style. As part of this phase the Architect should be taking into consideration the attributes and possible constraints of your building lot. Things like the size of the lot, special views, topography, specimen trees that you want saved, setbacks and easements and any possible subdivision design guidelines.

It is of equal importance to have your Interior Designer’s involvement during the design phase. This will ensure that your home will include interior features that are both important to you and will make your home truly special. Your Interior Designer will not only make sure that furniture will work with room sizes but gives his input with regard to interior design elements; things like cabinetry, arched windows, arched openings, flooring materials, etc.

Finally, the Builder’s role during the design process. During the plan development phase Jim attends meetings and works with the Architect and Interior Designer and lends his experience to the process. During Jim’s many years in building luxury custom homes he has been exposed to many really spectacular homes and has a great eye and appreciation for detail. In addition, Jim will play a role of making sure that the designs stay on course with the construction budget. There is nothing worse than completing your home plans and finding out that the cost to build it is over budget. While we truly believe that our team represents the best that the industry has to offer, Jim is also willing to work with your personal architect and interior designer as well.
